Extra Costs when you Buy French Property

When you buy French property there are always legal and tax costs on top of the purchase price.

You need to allow the following when buying French property:

the legal fees payable to the Notaire when you buy French property.

the buyer pays the estate agent when you are buying French Property - check whether this is included in the price you see.

When you buy French property there are government taxes to add .

If you are taking out a mortgage to buy French property there will be extra costs - both to the notary and a mortgage arrangement fee to the lender.

Before you buy French property, a survey may be advisable.
