cottages for sale are the dream French property for many British househunters
in France. French cottages for sale will enable you to enjoy the glorious
scenery, food wine and culture of France, and really feel you are a part
of it all.
The
relaxed, uncomplicated lifestyle is making many of us dream of buying
French cottages for sale. You may love the idea of an old fermette surrounded
by just fields, but for some, the community provided by French cottages
for sale in a village is preferable, with a boulangerie and Bar Tabac
around the corner. France
is more than twice the size of the UK, but much less heavily populated,
so French cottages for sale offer us so much more space and a more relaxed
way of life than we can get in the UK. French
cottages for sale in a village are a popular choice for those who want
to live in the countryside, but who don't want to be isolated, or need
to use the car every time they go out. They want to walk to the boulangerie
or pâtisserie every morning. French
cottages for sale in villages are in plentiful supply in many areas. Most
French cottages for sale will be old with lots of character. It is relatively
easy to get to know the people in the village, who are often more friendly
than in town and will try to understand you even if you don't speak French. Out
in the open countryside French cottages for sale offer the country life
as we imagine it and often a lots of space too- both inside the cottages
and with the land that goes with them. They are more obviously more isolated,
often surrounded by fields and woodland. Although many French cottages
for sale are situated in a tiny hamlet access to facilities from shopping
to entertainment is always a drive away. A
substantial amount of land may well be on offer with French cottages for
sale. Especially if the land is poor quality or in areas where farming
is in decline. In such cases, it is difficult to resist buying French
cottages for sale on a large plot, as it would never be possible in the
UK. But do consider the cost of maintaining such French cottages for sale.
You will need to purchase of a ride-on lawnmower if your garden is large.
Or a local farmer will often be happy to cut a meadow with his tractor.
It will need doing 2-3 times a year, and will propbably cost around £100
a time. When
you have decided on a search area for French cottages for sale, that relaxed
lifestyle in beautiful surroundings is a step nearer.
Take
a compass when you go to view French cottages for sale. If you plan to
sit on the terrace watching the sun set with a glass of wine you
need to know where the sun will set! And take a camera and our Viewing
checlist too.
If
possible, try to look for French cottages for sale early in the year.
As in the UK, this is when most French cottages for sale come on to the
market. You will also be taken more seriously by agents. They know you
are really serious about finding a house for sale in France and are not
